Bott + Co, Bentley, Chess, Astra Zeneca and Proseal each came in to run sessions for students after school each day this week. The talks were engaging and informative and drew an enthusiastic audience every day. Many attendees are about to take their GCSE’s and are beginning to think longer term about their post-18 prospects. Working with our Business Partners we can help to provide students with as much information as possible about the options available – as well as the giving them a chance to ask questions directly to those a few years ahead of them in the world of “earning and learning”.

Business Partner feedback has also been positive. Recruitment onto Apprenticeship programmes is competitive; engaging with students to ensure that they know about your business and how they might fit in to your workplace ensures a wide range of potential (local!) candidates. Apprentices, too, have had a good experience presenting to a small and friendly audience – a good chance to practice their public speaking skills.

After the success of this week, we are hoping to run these events through the year – with Waters visiting in May to tell students about their Apprentice scheme.
